How to prevent access to drives

For the security purposes in windows 7 we can stop the person to access our drives . It can be done without using a software . Windows has inbuilt features.

Follow the steps :-

1. Start Run (ctrl + r) and type "gpedit.msc".

2. Now Local group policy will be opened .

3. Now goto Administrative Templates .

4. Then Goto Windows Components

5. In the right pane scroll down and goto Windows Explorer

5. Now scroll down and click on the prevent access drives of my computer

6. Double Click on it you get windows prompt like in image

7. Enable It and choose drive which you want to block. You can block all drives or drive of your choice . Now if someone try to access your drive which you locked he or she got error .
